BACKGROUND
The Children's Corner was established in 1988 by Nancy Mitchell and Barbara Mitchell .  Both have taught in public schools for a period of fifteen years and hold degrees in Elementary and Early Childhood Education along with their Directors Credential.  They have 30 valuable years of experience working with children, parents, and staff..

PHILOSOPHY
The  philosophy of The Children's Corner is all children are unique and develop at their own rate.  Therefore, the children at our center are involved in activities appropriate not only for their age but their developmental level.  We strive to meet the needs of all our children not only academically but emotionally and socially as well.  Also, we believe that the parent is their child's best caregiver and teacher and strive to establish on going communication with them.

PROGRAMS OFFERED

Fulltime Daycare: (Preschool Included) for 2, 3, 4, and Pre-Kindergarten age children.

Accredited Preschool: Hours are 9:00 am - 12:30 pm - Monday - Friday.  We offer 2, 3, and 5 day enrollments.

Accredited Pre-Kindergarten: (PREPARE YOUR CHILD FOR KINDERGARTEN)  Hours are 9:00 am - 12:30 pm - Monday - Friday.

Meals
Nutritious lunches are served daily along with a morning and afternoon snack for all Fulltime Daycare, Preschool, and Pre-Kindergarten programs.

Before and After School:
The Children's Corner offers this program for Kindergarten through sixth grade students.  We service Fleming Island, Thunderbolt, Montclair, Orange Park, and Paterson Elementary Schools.  We provide the following:

* Transportation to and from the above schools
* Afternoon snack provided upon arrival from school
* Age appropriate classrooms
* Scheduled supervised homework
* Outdoor and indoor games
* Arts, crafts, and cooking activities
* Computer and Nintendo Centers
* Quiet Library Center
* Pick up on school scheduled early dismissal days with lunch provided
* Full-time care for all school holidays with field trips and planned activities

* Excellent Summer Camp Program

Pre-School Summer Camp:
The children enjoy summer activities that revolve around weekly themes such as Under the Sea, Creepy Crawlies, and Happy Birthday U.S.A.  Each day will include arts and crafts, indoor play, out door play, and music and movement activities.  They will also have special activities such as sprinkler parties, cooking activities, puppet shows, special visitors, and much more.

School Age Summer Camp: (DINO CLUB)
The Children's Corner provides an excellent summer camp for our school age students.  Each week they will select a different theme from "Under the Sea" to 'Hillbilly Hoedown."  Their days will be filled with fun activities surrounding their theme such as arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor games, free play, quiet time, dance, and much much more.  Each week they will go swimming and on field trips to places like Adventure Landing, The Dude Ranch, Fishing at Ronnie Van Zant Park, and other places around town.
